Atomos Shogun Recorder Firmware 6.4

New Features included in 6.4:

- New custom metadata tags - Tags used appear in the keyword collections in FCPX. The FCPX XML version has been updated to 1.4 for latest support.
- Sony FS700 and FS7 Raw to ProRes and DNxHR - please refer to instructions specific to your camera located in the AtomOS 6.4 Zip file.
- Pre-Roll Recording Option - 8 seconds HD and 2 seconds 4k.
- Option to clear all overlays from the screen - touch the centre of the monitor to cycle through 3 overlay modes.
- Genlock input enabled for synced playback/playout

3D LUT New Features:

- Option in the input page to apply the Monitor LUT to the loop out for viewing on external monitor.
- Option in the input page to record/burn-in the Monitor LUT to the recording.

About Video Recorder Adapters:

Applying a new firmware package on your Video Recorder adapter should improve overall performance and stability, fix various issues encountered with the device, or add support for newly developed features.

The Video Recorder adapter should be carefully upgraded by a power user (that is to say, someone who has the know-how to successfully complete the process), but it can also be performed by an average user at his or her own risk.

Either way, given the fact that each producer has their own method for installing a new firmware, and that every device has a particular way to enter the update mode, you must not consider upgrading the adapter’s software until you have read and thoroughly understood the installation steps.

As a rule, said steps shouldn’t pose too much of a challenge because manufacturers strive to make them as easy as possible. As with everything else, exceptions do occur, and users should be prepared for them.

Usually, you should transfer the compatible firmware to the Recorder through a USB cable or a memory card, and afterwards enter update mode from the unit’s setup menu or through a specific power-on method.
