FiiO has rolled out a new firmware package developed for its X7 v5 Portable Player, namely version 3.00 beta, which installs the 5.1.1 Android OS and fixes several issues left from the previous FiiO X7 v5 Firmware 2.0 release.

Specifically speaking, the present update fixes SRC for third-party music apps, adds Max and Customized volume options in FiiO music settings, and allows users to adjust the player’s volume when the screen is turned off.

In addition to that, firmware 3.00 beta adopts incremental media lib updates and adds recently played playlist, and gives the X7 the ability to sort (both ascending and descending) by alphabetical order, file name, track number, number of tracks in the album.

Moreover, the producer implements instant switch option between Android and Pure Music mode without a reboot, makes sure CUE tracks can be added to the playlist directly, and includes a manual OTA upgrade feature.

When it comes to installation, first of all, take into account that this firmware is defined as a public beta version, and should be applied based on your personal preference. Also, make sure to back up all important files stored on the device, as an upgrade will erase all data on the X7.
