FiiO has announced the availability of a new firmware package targeted at its X7 v5 audio player, namely version 2.0, which adds “Steep” and “Gradual” DAC output reconstruction lowpass filter options, and docking support for FiiO DK1.

In addition to that, the present package includes new options that allow adjusting volume at lineout, using different headphone amplifier modules, as well as scanning the files via Android > internal_sd under FiiO Music.

If applied, firmware 2.0 adds VU meters support, new DoP options to DAC and S/PDIF output, and an additional button mapping function, fixes a certain Bluetooth playback failure event, and removes the bug that caused the last song to be processed very slowly while updating media-lib.

Last but not least, FiiO has also managed to resolve various problems regarding the volume level when changing song, the cover display under interface of Album and Artist of FiiO Music, as well as a few other issues.

When it comes to installation, just save the downloadable archive onto a formatted microSD card, connect it to the X7 unit, turn on FiiO’s music player in Android mode, go to Support > Upgrade > external_SD, and select the archive present in the folder.

Now, select “Ok” at the next dialog to confirm the upgrade, and wait patiently as the player does its job. Do not use the device’s buttons, remove its battery, or interrupt the process in any way, as this can lead to serious malfunctions.

With this in mind, download FiiO X7 v5 Portable Player Firmware 2.0, apply it to enjoy all these new features and changes, and check back with us constantly to be aware when a newer version is available.
