The new firmware release fixes possible hotspot deadlock

Just now, MikroTik has made available a new firmware update developed for most of its products, namely version 6.35 RC 8, which should resolve the possible hotspot deadlock and improve “/queue interface” menu in CLI.

In addition to that, the new firmware will now store error.html on flash if it is available and add bucket-size settings to queues in CLI (derived from max-limit). Moreover, the devices will be able clean-up all dead hotspot entries at once.

Last but not least, this release renames max-arp-entries to less confusing max-neighbor-entries in CLI, resolves possible tile kernel failure when watchdog timer is disabled (caused by DDoS attack), and includes all fixes and improvements from the previous MikroTik RouterOS Firmware 6.35 RC 7 release.

When it comes to compatibility, bear in mind that the producer has rolled out separate .npk packages suitable for TILE, SMIPS, MIPS-BE, x86, PPC, and ARM variants; so make sure to choose the appropriate one for your device.

As for installation, since there are a large number of products supported, it would be a good idea to check your device’s user manual to make sure you use the correct update method.

That said, download MikroTik RouterOS Firmware 6.35 RC 8, familiarize yourself with the installation method, and apply the new update on your device. Also, constantly check our website to stay up to speed with the latest releases.
