Functional Improvements

1. Picture Cache Recording
- Picture Cache Recording allows you to begin recording a specified number of seconds in advance of the time.
- This function is available for the SxS memory recording with the recording format of XAVC 4096×2160P, XAVC 3840×2160P, XAVC 2048×1080P, XAVC 1920×1080P, MPEG 1920×1080P/i, or MPEG 1280×720P recording formats (XAVC is available only when the system frequency is set to 23.98, 24.0, 25.0, or 29.97).
- An advance of up to 18 seconds can be set (when using MPEG Format).

2. User Menu

- The User Menu is added on the top of the menu so that the user can access the desired menu items easily.
- Up to 20 menu items can be registered and edited.
- The customized User Menu item can be stored on an SD card as User Menu Item file, and loaded from the SD card.

3. Menu on the sub display

- The setup menu can be displayed on the sub display.
- You can perform menu operations without monitors and Viewfinders.

4. Simultaneous MPEG Proxy Recording for SStP (PMW-F55 only)

- The PMW-F55 is compatible with the MPEG Proxy function (simultaneously recording in one slot) when the recording format is set to SStP SR-SQ 444/SStP SR-SQ 422, and system frequency is set to 29.97P.

5. Seven color markers

- You can select the marker color from White, Yellow, Cyan, Green, Magenta, Red and Blue.

6. Auto iris level indication

- The setting value is displayed on the viewfinder screen when “Level” in “Auto Exposure” of the Camera menu is set to a value other than “±0.”

7. Video bandwidth selection for the HD/2K video output

- You can select the video bandwidth of the HD/2K video signal from “Wide” (wide bandwidth/conventional setting) and“Narrow” (narrow bandwidth).

8. User 3D LUT

- The PMW-F5/F55 can import a CUBE file (.cube) of 17 or 33 lattices that is created by RAW Viewer or BMD’s Da Vinci Resolve.

9. S-Log3 installed in Paint Menu

- “S-Log3” is added to the “Gamma” option of the Paint menu.

10. S-Gamut3/S-Log3

- New“S-Gamut3” of wide color gamut is added to the “Color Space” option in “Base Setting” of the System menu.

11. New Matrix options (PMW-F55 only)

- “10: S-Gamut3.Cine Like” and “11: S-Gamut3 Like” are added to“Preset Select” option in “Matrix” of the Paint menu.

12. Lens RET button can be used for the assignable button

- Lens RET button on the connected lens can be used for the assignable button.

13. Support HDMI V2.0 (PMW-F55 only)

- 3840×2160 59.94P/50P/29.97P/25P/23.98P, 4096×2160 29.97P/25P are added for the HDMI output format.

14. CBK-DCB01 is supported

- CBK-DCB01 (DEMAND CONVERTER BOX) can be used with the PMW-F5/F55.
- In order to use CBK-DCB01, firmware has to be updated.

15. Support the latest CA-4000 firmware

- The latest CA-4000, 4K Live system, firmware is supported.

16. Flashing Rec Tally before start recording on RAW Operation

- On RAW Operation, after pushing Rec button, Rec Tally is flashing before start recording. Actual recording is started after Rec Tally lighting.

17. Bug Fix

- We fixed troubles of False Color functions with DVF-EL100 and DVF-L700 on Cine-EI mode.
