NOTE:

- Updating firmware on an Odyssey monitor/recorder requires the use of an SSD.
- If an Odyssey monitor/recorder is currently running firmware version 5.10.100 (March 2015) or 2015.5 (May 2015) then a qualified Samsung SSD (see list above) as well as an Odyssey SSD can be used to perform the update.
- Samsung SSDs require the Convergent Design SSD Handle kit to mount in an Odyssey monitor/recorder.
- Odyssey monitor/recorders running earlier firmware versions must use an Odyssey SSD to perform the update.

FIRMWARE UPDATE INSTRUCTIONS

- Download all files off Odyssey SSDs and reformat SSDs on an Odyssey. Mount Odyssey SSD to computer.
- Click DOWNLOAD NOW button on this page to download Firmware Update Folder to your computer.
- Copy entire Firmware Update Folder from computer to Odyssey SSD. On a Windows computer the folder may need to first be “unzipped”. It is important to copy the complete folder rather than individual files.
- Dismount Odyssey SSD from computer and insert into Odyssey.
- Power on Odyssey. The firmware update will begin automatically and take 15-20 minutes to complete (follow screen prompts). After update completes, press “PWR ON” button for 5+ seconds to power down Odyssey.
- Power on Odyssey with Odyssey SSD still installed and at firmware update prompt, hit “CANCEL”. Reformat Odyssey SSD to use as normal.

About Video Recorder Adapters:

Applying a new firmware package on your Video Recorder adapter should improve overall performance and stability, fix various issues encountered with the device, or add support for newly developed features.

The Video Recorder adapter should be carefully upgraded by a power user (that is to say, someone who has the know-how to successfully complete the process), but it can also be performed by an average user at his or her own risk.

Either way, given the fact that each producer has their own method for installing a new firmware, and that every device has a particular way to enter the update mode, you must not consider upgrading the adapter’s software until you have read and thoroughly understood the installation steps.

As a rule, said steps shouldn’t pose too much of a challenge because manufacturers strive to make them as easy as possible. As with everything else, exceptions do occur, and users should be prepared for them.

Usually, you should transfer the compatible firmware to the Recorder through a USB cable or a memory card, and afterwards enter update mode from the unit’s setup menu or through a specific power-on method.

With this in mind, if you intend to apply this release, make sure the package is compatible with your Video Recorder and that it brings about the changes you want or require; hit the download button and apply the new firmware.

Don’t forget to regularly check with our website so that you don’t miss any updates.
