Caution:

- You cannot perform the firmware update using CFast 2.0 cards. Please use a commercially available SD/SDHC/SDXC memory card that is 64MB or more for the firmware update.
- Firmware version 1.0.1.1.00 is for updating Cinema EOS C700 or EOS C700 PL cameras running firmware version 1.0.0.1.00. If your camera's firmware is already version 1.0.1.1.00, it is not necessary to update the firmware. Once the camera is updated to the latest version, it cannot be restored to a previous version.

Preparations for the Firmware Update:

After the Firmware update has been performed, the camera's menu and custom picture settings will be reset. It is recommended that users save their menu and custom picture settings as settings data to an SD card, separate from the one that will be used to carry out the update, before starting update operations. This saved data can be loaded into the camera and the settings can be changed after the update has been completed. For further information on this, please refer to the section in the camera's user manual titled "Saving and Loading Camera Settings".

The downloaded folder contains the firmware (file name: VMA1.FIM / file size: 113,712,428 bytes), and instructions on the firmware update procedures (a PDF file in five languages: Japanese, English, French, Spanish and Simplified Chinese). Before starting the firmware update operations, please be sure to carefully confirm your understanding of these instructions.

About Camcorders:

Upgrading your camcorder to a different firmware version should improve the device’s overall performance and stability, resolve various issues, and add support for newly developed features or enhance existing ones.

On the other hand, downgrading the camcorder’s firmware can recover its functionality in the unlikely event that the currently installed version is faulty or the device’s performance dropped after an upgrade. However, you should bear in mind that applying an earlier build might not always be possible.

It is recommended that changing the camcorder’s firmware be carefully performed by a power user, but the process can also be initiated by a regular user at his or her own risk. Whichever the case, this step should be taken only when absolutely necessary.

When it comes to updating the device, make sure that you have saved all your personal data and configurations before initiating the process, and that the battery is fully charged. You’re not to use the unit’s buttons while the installation is in progress either.

As for the update method, most of the times, you’re supposed to copy the firmware file onto a suitable memory card, insert it into the camcorder, and start the upgrade from the device’s update section menu.

Still, each device has specific steps for a successful upgrade and various ways to enter update mode, which means that, before you set off to work, you must carefully read and understand the product’s installation guide.

With this in mind, if you consider installing this firmware, click on the download button, get the desired version, and apply it to the device; if not, check with our website as often as possible so that you don’t miss the update that will boost your camcorder’s performance.
