Completely overhauled user interface

Free – No Activation Required
The visually stunning AtomOS 11 operating system offers a fresh new look with countless optimizations to increase performance, usability, and some impressive new features. We can't wait for you to explore it.

H.265 (HEVC) Activation changes

Paid Activation Required
H.265 (HEVC) is an important component of AtomOS 11, so we've decided to include it in the AtomOS 11 Feature Pack you can purchase for $79 USD through My Atomos.
The price for the standalone activation of H.265 (HEVC) remains at $99 USD, if you choose not to upgrade your Ninja V to AtomOS 11.

PlaybackAssist

Paid Activation Required
Using the new PlaybackAssist feature, users can create custom ordered playlists, making the review of dailies, or even play out to digital signage or large format displays a breeze.
Scheduled Play is also part of the PlaybackAssist feature set, allowing users to choose the time when the device should start playing back specific files. This could be after a user-defined timer has elapsed, or at a specific time of day.

RecordAssist

Paid Activation Required
Similarly to PlaybackAssist, the brand new RecordAssist feature allows you to schedule when you want your device to start recording. The recording can start at a specific time, or when your previously configured timer has elapsed. This also applies to the Timelapse function, making RecordAssist a perfect fit for situations where you have to configure your device before an event, or for the early morning hours when capturing a sunrise.

New Colorized Exposure modes

Paid Activation Required
Introduction of two new alternatives to our traditional False Color implementation on Atomos devices: Arri False Color and the EL Zone System invented by Hollywood DP Ed Lachman, ASC.
Note: The EL Zone System exposure tool can only be activated when our device detects either a Log or RAW Input. It's not selectable on the Ninja V when cameras are outputting video with Rec.709 or generic non-LOG picture profiles to it.

Record and upload 4Kp60 clips in C2C Workflows

Paid Activation Required
By selecting the new "Single Recording" Camera to Cloud mode in Atomos Cloud Studio, Ninja V users can now upload high quality 4K clips at up to 60fps to either Frame.io or the Sony Ci Media cloud.
These clips are significantly higher quality than our 1080p and 720p proxies, and they're perfect for quick-turnaround jobs and every scenario where high quality C2C clips will end up in the final edit.
Note: Using this feature requires an active subscription to the Camera to Cloud tier in Atomos Cloud Studio.

Revised NDI menu

Paid Activation Required
In Atomos 11 we completely redesigned our NDI menu, making it easier to configure your Ninja V as an NDI TX device.

Transmit and Receive wirelessly with RemoteView

Paid Activation Required
By pairing two AtomOS 11 devices to Atomos Cloud Studio, you can configure either of them as a wireless transmitter (TX) or receiver (RX). As long as you're connected to the Atomos Cloud via the internet via an Atomos Connect and if your Cloud subscription allows it, you can send a live video feed from one AtomOS 11 device to the other. No additional wireless equipment required.
Note: Any AtomOS 10 & OS 11 device, or iPhone running the Atomos Pro Camera app can transmit (TX) to a RemoteView session. However, only AtomOS 11 devices, the Atomos – Surface app for macOS and iPadOS, and the Atomos – Monitor Apple tvOS app can be configured to be receiving (RX) devices.
Note: AtomOS10 TX devices can only support 25/50/29.97/59.94 FPS sessions, whereas OS11 TX devices can also support 23.98 and 24 FPS sessions.

Bug Fixes & Improvements

Along with the major OS version updates, 11.04.01 also includes various bug fixes and less obvious improvements.
- Resolved an issue where the Ninja V failed to lock HDMI RAW signals from Canon Mirrorless cameras such as the R5C.
- Resolved an issue where the Ninja V repeatedly displayed the Skippy symbol during recording, due to frame drops when connected to the AtomX CAST Switching Dock.
- Resolved an issue where the Ninja V incorrectly downscaled 1080p50/60 inputs to 720p whilst in NDI TX mode.

Firmware Update Procedure:

- Insert a compatible, formatted SSD into the Docking Station.
- Unzip the downloaded file and copy the ATOMNJV.FW file to the root of the SSD.
- Eject the SSD (according to operating system guidelines).
- Insert the SSD into the Ninja V.
- Power on the Ninja V and the firmware update process will begin automatically.
- If your Ninja V is already powered on, you will be prompted to perform the firmware update when a drive containing new firmware is inserted.
- Once the update is complete, your Ninja V will power itself down.
- To verify if the firmware update was successfully completed, power your Ninja back on, navigate to the main menu, and scroll to the info tab.

About Video Recorder Adapter Updates:

Applying a new firmware package on your Video Recorder adapter should improve overall performance and stability, fix various issues encountered with the device, or add support for newly developed features.

The Video Recorder adapter should be carefully upgraded by a power user (that is to say, someone who has the know-how to successfully complete the process), but it can also be performed by an average user at his or her own risk.

Either way, given the fact that each producer has their own method for installing a new firmware, and that every device has a particular way to enter the update mode, you must not consider upgrading the adapter's software until you have read and thoroughly understood the installation steps.

As a rule, said steps shouldn't pose too much of a challenge because manufacturers strive to make them as easy as possible. As with everything else, exceptions do occur, and users should be prepared for them.

Usually, you should transfer the compatible firmware to the Recorder through a USB cable or a memory card, and afterwards enter update mode from the unit's setup menu or through a specific power-on method.

With this in mind, if you intend to apply this release, make sure the package is compatible with your Video Recorder and that it brings about the changes you want or require; hit the download button and apply the new firmware.

Don't forget to regularly check with our website so that you don't miss any updates.
