New Features and Enhancements:

- Changes to make the firmware compliant with KNSC (Korea National Security Compliance)
- No clear text display of user password when the user is configuring it.
- Added a configuration command to set in-memory logging threshold.
- Added a configuration command to wrap-around or to stop in-memory logs
- In-memory logs are accessible only to Read-Write users and not to Read-only users.
- CLI Privilege Execution mode is restricted to ‘admin’ users only.
- Added a new command “set igmp-plus” to enable/disable IGMP Plus enhancements. By default “set igmp-plus” is enabled for VLAN 1.
- Added a new command “set mld-plus” to enable/disable MLD Snooping. By default “set mld-plus” is enabled for VLAN 1.
- Added a new command “dante” to automatically configure class of service parameters.
- Added a new command “ip mroute static-multicast “ to add/remove static IPv4 multicast routes.
- For M4300-8X8F platform user can turn off the FAN to keep the device quiet.
- Support ERROR_DISABLE for port link flapping. This feature keeps track of number of link-flaps per port and if that number crosses a configured threshold value then the port is moved into D-Disable state.
- Link dependency group limit increase.
- SNMP support to get fiber optics information.

Bug Fixes:

- Switches in a stack setup randomly reboot 1 to 2 times per month.
- Change default QoS trust mode from dot1p to ip-dscp (from 'classofservice trust dot1p' to 'classofservice trust ip-dscp'): When a customer does image upgrade from 12.0.9.3 or earlier versions to 12.0.11.8 or later releases, default/explicitly configured QoS dot1p (in the old image) will be changed to ip-dscp. If customer wants dot1p QoS mode, then customer has to explicitly configure dot1p again after the image upgrade.
- Switch is not accessible if the user stays in “change default password page” on the GUI for a minute and then closes the page.
- When IGMP Report Flood Mode is enabled, join/leave messages are not flooded to mrouter ports.
- IGMP reports are flooded to edge ports which results in SDVoE encoders/decoders timeout & stop streaming.
- LLDP remote device information wasn't flushed when the port is disconnected.
- SFP+ ports remain randomly down when AXC763 is in use and connected switch stack gets rebooted

Known issues:

- When a 40G port on APM402XL is expanded into 4 10G ports, these 10G ports cannot be configured as stacking port due to hardware limitation
- The 40G port can be expanded into four 10G ports via new ‘hardware profile portmode’ command, but this command will not retain across stack failover from stack master to standby unit.
- User could pre-configure a APM402XL before the module is inserted the slot. And most of port configuration can be applied except the port expander command, ‘hardware profile portmode’ will fail.
- The port LED on APM402XL module is not blinking when there is line activity and the 40G port is operating in four 10G ports mode. (HW limit)
- Stacking port mode does not survive hot plug-out and plug-in. One or more ports of an APM can be configured in Stacking mode. Once reloaded with this APM inserted, those ports would still operate in stacking mode. However, during run time, if the same APM is plugged out and plugged back in, the configured stack ports will be restored back to Ethernet mode. User would need to reconfigure them manually for stacking mode after hot insertion.
- Hot plug-in of any APM module won’t work if M4300-96X is booted without any APM pre-installed and with factory default settings. Install at least one APM module before booting up the switch.
- When APM402XL is operating in four 10G port mode, and connects these 10G ports are connected with a DAC fan-out cable, the link #1 of DAC fan-out cable will show up as port 3 in switch’s configuration and physical link #3 will show up as port 1 inside the switch’s configuration. This will be fixed in the upcoming maintenance release.
- M4300-96X copper port doesn’t link up at 2.5Gbps when it is connected to WAC740’s 2.5G port, it works only at 1Gbps. This will be fixed in the upcoming maintenance release.

About Switch Firmware:

Given the large variety of models and different methods for upgrading the switch, if you wish to apply this package, we recommend that you read and understand the installation steps before you install a new firmware, even if you are a power user.

Usually the update procedure isn't much of a hassle as manufacturers try to make it as simple as possible; however, there are cases that are exceptions to this rule. First off, go to the system information page of the switch to check that the currently installed version isn't either newer or matching this release.

Applying a new firmware can decrease the security vulnerabilities, enhance overall performance and compatibility, improve various power management functions, resolve different errors, and add support for newly developed technologies and protocols.

It is recommended that you perform this step in a steady power environment such as the one ensured by a UPS unit, and that you don't interrupt the upgrade in any way, because this might cause the switch to malfunction.

That being said, click the download button, get and apply the new version, and check back with our website constantly to stay up to speed with the latest releases.
