Added and Modified Features:

- [Virus Scan]: Trend Micro NAS Security is now supported. The antivirus will protect files in the shared folders including USB drives from virus infection. To activate this function, a license (sold separately) should be registered.
- [Access Restrictions]: Subfolders' and subfiles' access restrictions are now available.
- [Firmware Recovery]: The TeraStation now has recovery mode to recover the corrupted firmware when the unit doesn't boot properly. The unit can enter recovery mode by turning it on while holding down the function button.
- [WebAccess]: Music files are now playable from browsers that don't support flash player.
- [RAID]: Improved to reduce RAID rebuild and scan times.
- [USB Drives]: Following external USB drive models are now supported: HD-DT/R6 series and HD-HT/R6 series
- [Dropbox]: Added to verify an SSL certificate for the proxy server.
- [Port Trunking]: Added "ALB" to the port trunking policy. It will distribute incoming and outgoing network packets' traffic loads.
- [Backup, Replication, and Failover]: Subfolders' access restriction settings can be inherited to the destinations. To inherit the settings, both sources and destinations should be the TS3010 series or TS5010 series TeraStations running firmware version 3.00 or later.

Bug Fixes:

- [NFS]: Fixed a bug where shared folder lists on adding NFS rules were not displayed properly if multiple shared folders for which NFS protocols are enabled were created.
- [NFS]: Fixed a bug where a shared folder that contains multibyte characters in its name could not be accessed via NFS connections. Accessing shared folders whose names contain multibyte-character from Windows computers is not supported.
- [WebAccess]: Fixed a bug where a folder that contains a 4 GB or larger file could not be downloaded.
- [Drives]: Fixed a bug where the wrong drive number was informed as a drive failure in a notification email.
- [Drives]: Fixed a bug where the bootup process took time when disconnecting a drive while the TeraStation is off and it is powered on.
- [Drives]: Fixed a bug where the I31 error message did not disappear after configuring a drive as a spare drive using the function button.
- [RAID]: Fixed a bug where a spare drive was wrongly displayed as failed on Settings even if the drive is not malfunctioning.

Caution:

- Please consult your local technical support representative if you experience any problems caused by this firmware update.
- Do not turn the unit off until the update is finished. It will take several minutes. You will receive a message when the update is finished.
- USB drives are not mounted automatically after a firmware update. To mount them, unplug and then reconnect them.

How to Use the Updater:

1. Connect the TeraStation properly and configure the TeraStation and a computer to run the updater on the same network subnet. The subnet masks should be the same and the first three numbers of the IP addresses should be the same. The last number of the IP addresses should be different.
For example, if the IP address and subnet mask of the computer are
" 192.168.0.10 , 255.255.255.0 "
and the IP address and subnet mask of the TeraStation are
" 192.168.1.150 , 255.255.255.0 "
then the updater will _not_ work properly.
In this case, reconfigure the TeraStation's IP address and subnet mask to
" 192.168.0.150 , 255.255.255.0 ".
Then they will be on the same subnet and the updater will work properly.
2. Close all applications. Also, stop or exit any firewall software.
3. Extract the downloaded file and run "TSUpdater.exe". When a TeraStation is detected, an update window will open.
4. Select the TeraStation to update if multiple TeraStation are connected.
5. Click "Update" and enter the TeraStation's admin password.
6. Click "OK".
7. Transferring and updating the firmware will start. Wait until it finishes. The info LED will blink during the update.
8. When the update finishes, a message will be displayed.
