A "No compatible hardware found" error message appears when attempting to install the AMD Catalyst drivers directly from the AMD download home page for the:
- AMD Radeon HD 4xxx series of AGP graphics cards
- AMD Radeon HD 3xxx series of AGP graphics cards
- AMD Radeon HD 2xxx series of AGP graphics cards
All published AMD drivers have passed Microsoft's WHQL certification tests. A WHQL driver for the above mentioned products is not currently available.
Recommendation:
A hotfix has been created to help resolve the following issues:
- Problems with DirectX and AMD Radeon HD 4xxx, AMD Radeon HD 3xxx or AMD Radeon HD 2xxx series of AGP graphics cards.
- "No compatible hardware found" error message when installing AMD Catalyst drivers directly from the AMD download home page

Try to set a system restore point before installing a device driver. This will help if you installed a wrong driver. Problems can arise when your hardware device is too old or not supported any longer.
