Edge Recording is now officially supported:
- The camera can save the recording files on its local storage (such as a SD card) even when the connection to the NVR suddenly becomes unavailable. After the connection is resumed, the NVR will check its recording files and compare the recording schedule set by users. If the NVR detects that recording files are missing, it will request the camera to upload the missing part.
- Applied models: AXIS P1343, P1344, P3343, P5534, M5013, Q1602.

Surveillance storage expansion, VioStor NVR + Turbo NAS for storage expansion, is updated:

- Applied NVR series: Pro(+) series with FW v4.1.1
- Applied NAS series: TS-x69, x79, x70 series with FW v4.0.2
- Install QPKG of surveillance storage expansion on NAS (x69, x70, x79 series) with FW v4.0.2.

Important Notice:

- For optimized system performance, please use minimum five hard drives for RAID 5 or minimum six hard drives for RAID 6 on VS-12100U-RP Pro(+), VS-8100U-RP Pro(+) and VS-8100 Pro+ series NVR.
- Strongly suggest to select 5% available storage capacity or above to overwrite the oldest recordings on Camera Settings -> Advanced Settings.
- To view the live video and export video by Internet Explorer, please add the NVR IP address to the list of trusted sites. While accessing NVR via IE, it will be prompted to install the ActiveX add-on at first time.

Applying a new firmware package on your Network Video Recorder (NVR) should improve overall performance and stability, fix various issues encountered with the device, or add support for newly developed features.

The NVR should be carefully upgraded by a power user (that is to say, someone who has the know-how to successfully complete the process), but it can also be performed by an average user at his or her own risk.

Either way, given the fact that each producer has their own method for installing a new firmware, and that every device has a particular way to enter the update mode, you must not consider upgrading the software until you have read and thoroughly understood the installation steps.

As a rule, said steps shouldn't pose too much of a challenge because manufacturers strive to make them as easy as possible. As with everything else, exceptions do occur, and users should be prepared for them.

Usually, you should transfer the compatible firmware to the Recorder through a USB cable or a memory card, and afterwards enter update mode from the unit's setup menu or through a specific power-on method.
