NXP HB2000 Evaluation Kit Firmware REV v512

The firmware configures FRDM-KL25Z as SPI Dongle for HB2000 and HB2001 kits to communicate with SPIGen software. The kits come with pre-programmed FRDM-KL25Z. However, user has an option to re-program or program another FRDM-KL25Z board with the firmware for HB2000 and HB2001 evaluation kits.

The firmware for HB2000 and HB2000 kits is called “UsbSpiDongleKL25Z_HB2000_HB2001_v512.srec “. It works after the Open SDA firmware is installed on FRDM-KL25Z.

Installation Process :

1. After downloading “UsbSpiDongleKL25Z_HB2000_HB2001_v512.srec”, ensure that the USB cable is connected to the OpenSDA USB port on the KL25Z.
2. Drag and drop the .srec file onto the FRDM-KL25Z icon that appears on your PC as a Mass Storage Device named FRDM-KL25Z.
3. The microcode automatically installs on the FRDM-KL25Z board’s embedded flash memory. The flashing green LED above the OpenSDA port indicates that the download is in process.
4. When the firmware has been successfully installed, the green LED stops flashing and remains on.
5. To begin communicating with SPIGen, move the USB mini-plug from the KL25Z’s OpenSDA port to the KL25Z USB port.
