Western Digital has announced the availability of two new firmware updates targeted at all its My Cloud devices, namely version 4.04.01-112 and 2.10.310, which fix the Network connection failure encountered by Android products.

In order to be clear about the compatible storages, the producer has provided a 4.04.01-112 update suitable for its My Cloud device, as well as the 2.10.310 firmware for My Cloud Mirror, Mirror Gen2, EX4100, EX4, EX2100, EX2, DL4100, and DL2100 network storages.

Now, besides the DL4100 NAS that only receives the aforementioned improvements, the rest of the devices can now reconnect to the new relay servers after a relay failover, and receive enhanced analytics support.

In addition to that, while the My Cloud’s Public folder (owned by root:root) can be written without any problems, the remaining storages receive fixes for their corrupted SSL keys that didn’t allow Apache to start.

When it comes to WD’s new My Cloud Mirror Gen2, this device gets updated help files, support for Software Developer Kit (SDK) that enables enhanced app integration, as well as a few improvements that won’t allow cloud access to be lost.

As for installation, simply download and unzip the appropriate package, go to Dashboard > Settings > Firmware > Update from File, and use the newly extracted file to complete this process.

That being said, either download WD My Cloud Firmware 4.04.01-112 or download WD My Cloud Firmware 2.10.310, according to all the aforementioned aspects, apply the new update, and check our website as often as possible to be aware when newer versions are available.
