Ubiquiti has rolled out a new firmware package developed for all of its airMAX M devices, namely version 6.0.30097.161219, which updates dropbear (2016.74), OpenSSL (1.0.2h), Lighttpd (1.4.39), and Linux kernel (2.6.32.71).

In addition to that, the current release implements various security and stability improvements, reduces invalid DFS radar events, adds signal per chain reporting feature, and allows owners to configure Dynamic DNS and DHCP Option via system.cfg.

If applied, airOS6 fixes random AP/Station reboots, loads NAT helpers modules when NAT is disabled, generates a unique SSL certificate for each device, corrects French language mistranslations, and updates Chinese translation.

Moreover, compatible devices will also receive improved compatibility with Mikrotik devices, new UNII Rules for some models, DNS Proxy binds (to WAN port), kernel crash log in Support info, as well as crash log reporting to Ubiquiti Networks for better troubleshooting.

Besides these changes, Ubiquiti’s release adds DFS Events monitoring list and more statistics on the Main page, resolves the inaccurate TX Power reporting, makes sure Crontab works with multiple scheduler/commands, and improves performance when XM devices run out of memory.

Last but not least, owners who apply this firmware on their devices will also benefit from a full list of available APs in Site Survey reports, the ability to use special symbols in Device Name, as well as several other changes highlighted in the Release Notes below.
