The new release improves wake from sleep functionality

OCZ has rolled out a new firmware version developed for its Trion 100 SSD unit, namely 11.2, which includes various code improvements that preserve settings when resuming from DevSLP.

In addition to that, this release also adds enhancements for the unit’s wake from sleep functionality, and resolves an issue that caused the SSD to become unresponsive during a period of intensive I/O.

This new update can be applied using OCZ’s 1.3.1571 toolbox (SSD firmware updater), that supports Mac OS and Linux platforms, as well as both 32- and 64-bit variants of Microsoft’s Windows 7, 8, 8.1, and 10 operating systems.

However, take into account that the SSD Guru’s task tray icon may not appear correctly positioned and sized in some Linux window managers. Hopefully, this issue won’t be encountered by the rest of the supported OSes.

As for upgrading your Solid State Drive (SSD), download the appropriate package for your system configuration, install and run OCZ’s Toolbox, and wait for your Trion device to be recognized.

Bear in mind that, before moving forward, it is recommended that you back up all important data stored on the SSD, as replacing its firmware might erase all files contained by the drive.

With this in mind, select the SSD you want to upgrade, click “Tools,” and then select “Update Firmware” (and then “Update BIOS”), choose “Yes,” and wait for the Toolbox to do its job.

That being said, download OCZ Trion 100 SSD Firmware 11.2, carefully update its firmware to the latest version, and enjoy the changes this new release brings about.
