Just now, Sony has announced the availability of its 3.50 firmware package targeted as PlayStation 4 gaming consoles, which implements several long-awaited features, such as Friend Notifications, Remote Play, and others.

Specifically speaking, Sony’s update (codenamed “Musashi”) adds support for Remote Play to PC and Mac owners, and allows users to appear as “Offline” via the profile tab or the Quick Menu (hold down the PS button on controller).

However, take into the account that Remote Play feature works on configurations running one of the Windows 8.1, Windows 10 (or later), Mac OS X 10.10, or Mac OS X 10.11 platforms. Also, only 360p/540p (default)/720p resolutions, and 30fps/60fps frame rates will be available.

In addition to that, users who want to make use of this addition must use the DualShock 4 on PC or Mac connected via USB, as well as install the Remote Play client for PC or Remote Play client for Mac.

The release also implements the “Play Together” feature that allows Party members to see what other members are playing, and adds Create Event, Schedule Gameplay Sessions, Dailymotion, and other new options as highlighted in the Release Notes below.

In terms of installation, manually download the .PUP file on your computer, create a “PS4/UPDATE” path onto a FAT32 formatted USB flash drive, and transfer the firmware there. Also, make sure the console is completely powered off, and attach the newly-prepared USB drive.

Now, press and hold the power button for at least 7 seconds in order to enter safe mode, and go to Settings > System Software Update. Afterwards, simply follow all instructions displayed, make sure you don’t interrupt the power or remove the USB stick while upgrading.

That said, download Sony PlayStation 4 Firmware 3.50, apply it on your gaming console, and enjoy all these new changes and improvements. Also, check back with us as often as possible to stay “updated one minute ago.”
