Today, Sony has announced the availability of a new firmware package developed for its powerful PXW-FS5 and PXW-FS5K recorders, namely version 2.00, which adds automatic adjustment of the ND filter density, and more.

Specifically speaking, this update improves zebra function by allowing owners to select two types of settings and change them in 1% increments and adds support for shooting and recording in RAW mode. However, a CBKZ-FS5RIF device is required.

In addition to that, you can now select the audio that is output in the headphones, as well as acquire and record position information when shooting using the GPS function.

Therefore, if you want to enjoy these changes, save the appropriate package for your operating system (available for both Windows and Mac OSes), run it, turn on the camera, and make sure the device is connected to a stable power source.

Afterwards, connect the camera to the computer, click ”Next” at the Firmware Updater, and follow all on-screen instructions for a complete and successful installation. The process should take around 5 to 10 minutes to complete.

Bear in mind that the camera can encounter various malfunctions if this task is interrupted in any way. Also, once completed, make sure to check the current firmware to make sure the new version has been applied properly.

That said, download Sony PXW-FS5 Firmware 2.00 or download Sony PXW-FS5K Firmware 2.00, carefully apply it, and enjoy these new changes. Also, check back with us as often as possible to stay up to speed with the latest releases.
