Today, Sony has rolled out its new 4.50 firmware package developed for PlayStation 4 gaming consoles, which allows owners to use a USB storage device to install apps or move them from the PS4 system storage, and more.

This new update makes the quick menu more user-friendly, displays all notifications in a single list, allows using the microphone from the device you are playing on via Remote Play, and can post screenshots directly to activities, such as those shown in “What's New.”

In addition to that, version 4.50 also adds Blu-ray 3D content support to PlayStationVR, updates PS4 Remote Play design for Xperia, allows making a party public or private even after it has been created, and implements several other changes as highlighted in the Release Notes below.

Therefore, if you want to enjoy the improvements mentioned above and more, save the “Upgrade File,” create a “PS4/UPDATE” path onto an FAT32-formatted USB stick and transfer the firmware there.

Afterward, insert the stick into your PS4 system, make sure it’s turned off, press and hold the Power button for at least 7 seconds to enter safe mode, navigate to the Update System Software section, and follow all instructions displayed on the screen.

In addition to that, users can also download and apply the “Re-Installation File” for a fresh 4.50 system software. However, know that this method deletes all users, data, settings, and any other files found on the console.

With this in mind, download Sony PlayStation 4 Firmware 4.50, carefully apply it on your gaming system to improve its overall performance, and constantly check our website to stay “updated one minute ago.”
