The release resolves the PictBridge printer connection issue

Ricoh has made available a new firmware package developed for its G800SE camera models, namely version 1.05, which removes the recognition bug that prevented users from connecting to a PictBridge printer, and more.

Specifically speaking, this update allows owners to send images and gives them the ability to make use of 802.1x connections that have Chained-Certificate, or certificates with expiration dates set to 2038 (or later).

When it comes to installation, first of all, hold both Down Arrow and Playback buttons for a few seconds while the device is off so that the camera’s currently installed firmware is displayed, and make sure its version isn’t either newer or matching the present release.

Now, if all is OK, save and unzip the downloadable archive, format a memory card using Ricoh’s G800SE unit, transfer the firmware file onto its root directory, and turn off the camera.

Afterwards, press and hold Up Arrow and Playback buttons so that the camera can enter update mode, select “Yes” for the upgrade process to be initiated, and wait for the device to do its job.

Bear in mind that interrupting this task by removing the battery/memory card or powering down the camera in any other way might lead to various malfunctions. Also, upon completion, it would be a good idea to check the current version once more to ensure the process has been successful.

That being said, download Ricoh G800SE Camera Firmware 1.05, carefully apply it on your imaging unit, and enjoy the changes this new release brings about. Also, check back with us often to be aware when a newer version is available for your device.
