Realtek has announced the availability of a new driver version targeted at its USB Ethernet adapters, namely build 1021.2016, which might implement some small performance and stability improvements.

To be clear, for the RTL8152B USB 2.0 Fast Ethernet and RTL8153 USB 3.0 Gigabit Ethernet adapters, Realtek has provided version 7.026.1021.2016 compatible with Windows 7 and Server 2008 R2 OSes, as well as version 10.012.1021.2016 targeted at Windows 10 platforms.

In addition to that, the same network components also benefit from an 8.033.1021.2016 driver that is compatible with Microsoft’s Windows 8 and 8.1 operating systems, as well as with the Server 2012 OS.

When it comes to installation, first of all make sure your network component is supported (check the description page), save and unzip the appropriate package for your system configuration, and run the available setup file.

Afterwards, simply follow all instructions displayed for a complete and successful upgrade. Also, don’t forget to perform a system reboot in order to allow all changes to take effect properly.
