Realtek has rolled out two new driver builds targeted at its USB 2.0 and USB 3.0 adapters, as well as its PCI and PCIe components, namely 0125.2016 and 0122.2016, respectively. As for changes, these packages might improve overall performance and stability.

To be clear, the producer has made available versions 106.013.0122.2016 for Vista and Server 2008, 7.097.0122.2016 for Windows 7 and Server 2008 R2, and 8.043.0122.2016 for Windows 8, 8.1, and Server 2012. Also, there is a 10.006.0122.2016 driver compatible with Windows 10.

However, all files mentioned above are only compatible with Realtek’s PCIe Fast Ethernet, PCI Gigabit, and PCIe Gigabit Ethernet Family controllers powered by one of the supported operating systems (either 32- or 64-bit architectures).

When it comes to the RTL8152B USB 2.0 FE and RTL8153 USB 3.0 GbE adapters, these devices benefit from the 7.021.0125.2016 (Windows 7), 8.028.0125.2016 (Windows 8 and 8.1), and 10.005.0125.2016 (Windows 10) drivers.

Finally, in terms of installation, save and extract the appropriate package for your computer’s OS, and run the available setup file from within the newly-unzipped archive. Afterwards, simply follow all instructions displayed for a complete and successful upgrade.

As for a recommendation, once finished, it would be a good idea to perform a manual restart (or allow the wizard to do that for you) to allow all changes to take effect properly.
