The new update should improve overall sound quality

Just now, Realtek has rolled out a new version of its High Definition Audio package, namely the 6.0.1.7899 driver, which comes only a few days after the previous Realtek HD Audio Driver 6.0.1.7898 release.

In terms of compatibility, the present update is suitable for the same OSes as earlier releases, namely both 32- and 64-bit architectures of Microsoft’s Windows 7, 8, 8.1, and 10 operating systems.

As for fixes and improvements, since there is no official changelog available, I assume this update could include small stability, performance, and sound quality enhancements.

However, to find out what the changes really are, first save and unzip the downloadable archive to an accessible location on your computer (such as on the desktop), and locate the available setup file from within the newly created folder.

Afterwards, close all programs and processes that might interfere with the upgrade, run the setup.exe file, and follow all instructions displayed on-screen.

Last but not least, once finished, take the time to perform a system reboot to allow all changes to take effect properly. If this isn’t requested automatically by the wizard, it would be a good idea to carry it out manually.

That said, download Realtek HD Audio Driver 6.0.1.7899, follow all instructions to install the new version, and constantly check our website in order to stay “updated one minute ago.”
