A few moments ago, the new 6.0.1.8045 Realtek HD Audio driver surfaced on Microsoft’s Update Catalog, and it's compatible with both 32- and 64-bit variants of Windows 10 and Windows 10 Anniversary Edition platforms.

If you want to apply this release, save the file that is suitable for your system configuration, extract the .cab file, go to Device Manager, right-click on the hardware device you wish to update, and close all programs and processes that might interfere with the upgrade.

Afterward, choose “Update Driver Software,” click on “Browse my computer for driver software,” navigate and select the location of the newly-created folder, hit “Next,” and follow all instructions displayed for a complete upgrade.

However, since different OSes might also seem valid at first, installing Realtek’s update on other operating systems isn’t recommended and should not be performed. Doing so might lead to malfunctions that would require you to remove and apply the appropriate driver.

Last but not least, take the time to perform a system reboot to allow all changes to take effect properly. If this isn’t requested automatically by the wizard, it would be a good idea to carry it out manually.

That said, download Realtek HD Audio Driver 6.0.1.8045, follow all of the above-mentioned steps, install the new version, and don’t forget to constantly check our website to stay “updated one minute ago.”
