Realtek has rolled out a new build of its HD Audio package, namely version 6.0.1.7824, which comes exactly one week since the previous Realtek HD Audio Driver 6.0.1.7818 release and might include small improvements to the same Windows platforms.

Specifically speaking, this package is compatible with both 32- and 64-bit variants of Microsoft’s Windows 7, 8, 8.1, and 10 operating systems. However, since other OSes might also seem valid at first, installing Realtek’s update on other OSes isn’t recommended and shouldn’t be performed.

Thus, if you consider installing Realtek’s 6.0.1.7824 driver, first of all, save and unzip the downloadable archive to an accessible location on your computer (such as on desktop) and locate the available setup file from within the newly created folder.

Now, just run “setup.exe,” follow all instructions displayed on the screen for a complete and successful upgrade, and make sure not to forget to give the wizard permission to perform a system reboot. However, if this task isn’t requested automatically, it would be a good idea to carry it out manually.

With this in mind, download Realtek HD Audio Driver 6.0.1.7824, apply it on your device, perform the required restart, and check our website as often as possible in order to stay “updated one minute ago.”

UPDATE 5/20: Using the link above, you can also download the same 6.0.1.7818 Realtek HD Audio build that has also been spotted on Microsoft's Windows Update Catalog. Still, take into account that the files are available in a .cab format and only for Windows 10 platforms.
