Peplink has made available new Router and Access Point firmware packages, namely version 6.3.1 and 3.5.3, respectively, which fix several issues regarding VLAN, Firewall, PepVPN, LAN port, and much more.

Specifically speaking, the 6.3.1 update removes bugs that caused LAN MAC address to change when Layer 2 PepVPN connects or disconnects, reset LAN switch every time changes were applied to the router, or led to incorrect SpeedFusion Tx statistics reports.

In addition to that, the producer has managed to resolve USB modem compatibility with Balance 580 HW1, as well as the Firewall rules that weren’t functioning with configuration scheduling. Also, cellular WAN will function properly upon startup while web blocking will apply after a reboot.

Moreover, PepVPN and WAN connection bugs, USB modem compatibility problems, as well as a few other issues as highlighted in the Release Notes below will be resolved.

As for the 3.5.3 Access Points package, this release adds support for a secondary DNS server and Per-port VLAN features, and resolves certain InControl 2, VLAN Assignment, Captive Portal, and PepVPN-related problems.

When it comes to installation, first of all, make sure that you download the appropriate package for your device model, log into its administration page, go to System > Firmware, and hit the “Choose File” button.

Afterwards, just select the newly saved firmware file, click Manual Upgrade, and wait as the device does its job.

That said, from the links below, follow the one that best suits your router series, click on the link that highlights your router model (and HW revision), carefully apply it, and enjoy the new changes that the present release brings about.
