Today, Olympus rolled new firmware packages developed for some of its digital cameras, namely versions 1.2, 3.0, and 2.0 compatible with E-M1 Mark II, E-M5 Mark II, and PEN-F devices, respectively, which adds support for flash controllers manufactured by Profoto.

In addition to that, the PEN-F unit receives improved AF targeting pad operability and can now select art filters using touch operations while viewing sample images, and set a low value for shutter speed to increase ISO sensitivity while auto ISO is enabled.

When it comes to the E-M5 Mark II model, this camera is now able to back up its settings, link AF target position and spot metering range, as well as compensate mid-range gradation when using Highlight & Shadow Control.

As for the E-M1 Mark II camera, Olympus improves EVF color reproduction, battery level indicator stability, and noise reduction of sequential shooting while the lens's IS is on, as well as corrects the AF target home position that isn’t retained after a reboot/shutdown.

Moreover, this latter device also receives fixes for an issue regarding certain brand flashes not working in High Res Shot, Focus Bracketing, and Focus Stacking, as well as for the Rec. View screen that doesn’t show anything when using EVF to shoot photos.

In terms of installation, simply save and run the appropriate package for your system configuration (available for both Mac OS and Windows platforms), and follow all instructions displayed on the screen.
