The update also resolves Fortnite RTX-related crashes

NVIDIA has announced the availability of a new version of its GeForce graphics driver, namely build 456.71 WHQL, which is the Game Ready driver for the upcoming Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War PC Beta title.

In addition to that, the current release also enables support for NVIDIA Reflex in the Beta that gives gamers the ability to reduce system latency and improve gameplay responsiveness, and forces administrator privileges requirements to perform EDID override.

Besides these changes, version 456.71 fixes low frame rates seen in Divinity: Original Sin 2 Definitive Edition when enabling Hardware-accelerated GPU Scheduling, corrects black screen events encountered on adaptive sync monitors (if G-SYNC is enabled), and resolves RTX Shadows/Reflection in Fortnite.

However, bear in mind that this update might still encounter issues with World of Warcraft Shadowlands, Sunset Overdrive, Call of Duty: Warzone, Forza Motorsport 7, Fortnite, Zombie Army: Dead War 4, and other games as highlighted in the Release Notes below.

In terms of compatibility, the available files are suitable for the 64-bit variants of Microsoft’s Windows 7, 8, 8.1, and 10 operating systems (both desktop and notebooks). Also, Windows 10 users must choose from two packages: DCH or Standard file (as shown in NVIDIA Control Panel > System Information > Driver Type).

Therefore, if you want to upgrade, save the appropriate file for your computer’s operating system, run it, wait for all data required for the installation to be extracted, and follow all instructions displayed on the screen for a complete and successful upgrade.

Once finished, make sure to perform a system reboot to allow all changes to take effect properly. If this task isn’t requested automatically by the wizard, it would be a good idea to carry it out manually so that any possible problems are avoided.

That said, download NVIDIA GeForce Graphics Driver 456.71, apply it on your device, and constantly check our website to stay “updated one minute ago.”
