NVIDIA has announced the availability of a new version of its STUDIO Graphics driver, namely the 441.28 (R440) package, which adds support for CUDA 10.2, fixes several OptiX-related issues, and more.

Specifically speaking, the current release includes support for the new RTX-accelerated ray tracing offered by Chaos Group’s V-Ray GPU Next and Blender 2.81, fixes Avid Media Composer issues with OpenGL/OpenCL driver, and resolves IRay app crash events.

In addition to that, build 441.28 also corrects OptiX SDK 7.0.0 error messages, OptiX performance regression when using V-Ray rendering, as well as other OptiX denoiser-related problems as highlighted in the Release Notes below.

In terms of compatibility, besides a supported GPU, take into account that your configuration must be running a 64-bit variant of Windows 10; also, take into account that there are two packages available for each desktop and notebook configurations: one DCH and one Standard file.

Therefore, check System Information in NVIDIA Control Panel to see what file is appropriate for your system, download NVIDIA STUDIO Graphics Driver 441.28 for Windows 10 64-bit, run it, and wait for all files required to be made available.

Afterward, follow all instructions displayed on the screen for a complete upgrade, perform a reboot once finished (reboot the system manually if not done automatically), and check back with us to stay “updated one minute ago.”
