NVIDIA has announced the availability of new OpenGL 4.5 display drivers developed for both GeForce and Quadro graphics chipsets, namely version 355.97 beta, which includes support for both 32- and 64-bit variants of Microsoft’s Windows 10 operating system.

In addition to that, this new release also fixes a minor ARB_parallel_shader_compile issue, and adds the EXT_blend_func_separate and EXT_multisample_compatibility extensions for OpenGL ES contexts.

When it comes to supported OSes, besides the new addition (Windows 10), NVIDIA has provided downloadable files that can be used on valid configurations running under Microsoft’s Windows XP, Vista, 7, 8, and 8.1 platforms.

As for the compatible GPU models, version 355.97 beta is suitable for the same GeForce and Quadro graphics chipsets as the previous NVIDIA OpenGL 355.58 Beta release (must include at least one Fermi, Kepler, or Maxwell based GPUs).

In terms of installation, if your configuration is supported, simply save and run the appropriate executable for your OS and bit architecture, wait for all files required for the upgrade to be extracted, and follow all instructions displayed on-screen.

Finally, once this process has finished, it would be a good idea to perform a system reboot in order to allow all changes to take effect properly. If this task isn’t requested automatically, make sure to carry it out manually.
