The release adds support for the iOS version of SnapBridge

Nikon has made available a new firmware package compatible with its COOLPIX A300 compact camera, namely version 1.2, which implements support for the iOS version of SnapBridge.

In addition to that, the current update also removes a bug that occasionally interfered with the camera’s focus when SnapBridge Remote photography option was used on Android devices.

With this in mind, if you want to make use of these improvements, first ensure the currently installed version isn’t either newer or matching firmware 1.2. To do so, simply go to MENU > Setup > Firmware Version.

If all is OK, download and run the appropriate package compatible with your computer (available for both Mac OS and Windows platforms), and back up all images or important files stored on the camera’s internal memory before initiating an upgrade.

Now, transfer the newly created “firmware” folder onto a formatted memory card, insert it into the camera and turn it on, select Firmware Version, and follow all instructions displayed on-screen for a complete and successful installation.

Last but not least, once finished, it would be a good idea to remove and format the memory card used in this process and check the currently installed firmware to make sure it reads version 1.2.

That said, download Nikon COOLPIX A300 Camera Firmware 1.2, apply it using the steps above, and check back with us as often as possible to be aware when a newer version is available for your camera.
