The update fixes Points of Interest improper display

Nikon has just made available a new firmware package compatible with its COOLPIX AW130 digital camera, namely version 1.1, which removes the bug that caused Points of Interest (POI) for Hong Kong, Macao, and Taiwan to be displayed incorrectly.

If you have been encountering this issue and consider upgrading to the present firmware, first of all, ensure the currently installed version isn’t either newer or matching this release. To do so, simply go to MENU > Setup > Firmware Version.

If all is OK, download and run the appropriate package compatible with your computer (available for both Mac OS and Windows platforms), and back up all images or important files stored on the camera’s internal memory before initiating an upgrade.

Now, transfer the newly created “firmware” folder onto a formatted memory card, insert it into the camera and turn it on, select Firmware Version, and follow all instructions displayed on-screen for a complete and successful installation.

Last but not least, once finished, it would be a good idea to remove and format the memory card used in this process and check the currently installed firmware in order to make sure it reads version 1.1.

With this in mind, download Nikon COOLPIX AW130 Camera Firmware 1.1, apply it using the aforementioned steps, and check back with us as often as possible to be aware when a newer version is available for your camera.
