Today, Nikon has announced the availability of a new firmware package developed for its D3300 digital SLR camera, namely version 1.01, which fixes a few issues that affected the device.

Specifically speaking, this release resolves the Auto info display feature that had no effect for focal lengths over 55 mm, as well as the Exposure compensation that didn’t work as expected when choosing negative values.

In addition to that, version 1.01 adds support for NIKKOR’s AF-P DX 18–55 mm f/3.5–5.6G and AF-P DX 18–55 mm f/3.5–5.6G VR lenses. Also, when the latter component is attached, the camera will display a vibration reduction option (Optical VR) in the photo SHOOTING MENU.

As for installation, make sure to check the current firmware version isn’t either newer or matching this release, and save and extract the appropriate package for your OS (available for both Mac OS and Windows platforms).

Now, copy the newly-extracted .bin file onto a memory card, power off your camera, insert the microSD card, and turn on your unit. Afterwards, simply choose Firmware Version in the setup menu, and follow all the instructions displayed on-screen for a complete and successful upgrade.

Considering all aspects above, download Nikon D3300 Firmware 1.01 apply it on your camera, and enjoy the new changes. Also, constantly check our website to stay up to speed with the latest releases.
