Nikon has announced the availability of a new firmware package developed for its COOLPIX P610 compact digital camera, namely version 1.2, which fixes an issue that resulted in Points of Interest (POI) for Hong Kong, Macao, and Taiwan not displaying correctly.

Therefore, if this problem has affected your imaging unit, check the camera’s currently installed firmware, and make sure it isn’t either newer or matching the present release.

If all is OK, save and run the downloadable file appropriate for your computer OS (available for both Windows and Mac OS X platforms), format an SD memory card using the camera, and transfer the firmware folder on it.

Afterwards, make sure your camera isn’t connected to any computer or external adapter, and that it’s battery is fully charged.

Now, insert the memory card into the proper slot, go to the Firmware Version section in the Setup menu, and follow all instructions displayed on-screen for a complete and successful upgrade.

Bear in mind that, during the installation you mustn’t remove the battery/memory card, power off/reboot the camera, or make use of any of its buttons. Doing so can lead to various malfunctions or even render the unit unusable.

That said, download Nikon COOLPIX P610 Camera Firmware 1.2, apply it on your device, constantly check our website to be aware when a newer version is available for your unit.
