Realtek has made available a new version of its HD Audio package, namely 6.0.1.7843, which comes almost a week after the previous Realtek HD Audio Driver 6.0.1.7841 release and might also include small stability, performance, and sound quality improvements.

In terms of compatibility, this update maintains support for the same OSes: both 32- and 64-bit variants of Microsoft’s Windows 7, 8, and 8.1 operating systems, as well as its latest Windows 10 platform.

However, even though other OSes might also seem compatible, you should know that installing Realtek’s update on platforms other than the ones mentioned above isn’t recommended. Doing so might lead to malfunctions that would require you to remove and apply the appropriate driver.

Thus, if you intend to apply driver 6.0.1.7843, first save and unzip the downloadable package on your desktop location, locate and run the available setup executable, and follow all on-screen instructions for a complete and successful upgrade.

Last but not least, don’t forget to give the wizard permission to perform a system reboot. If this task isn’t requested automatically, it would be a good idea to carry it out manually; this allows changes to take effect properly.

With this in mind, download Realtek HD Audio Driver 6.0.1.7843, install it, and check our website constantly to stay “updated one minute ago.”
