Realtek made available a new version of its HD Audio package, namely 6.0.1.7818, which comes after only two days since the previous Realtek HD Audio Driver 6.0.1.7815 release and might also include small stability, performance, and sound quality improvements.

In terms of compatibility, this update includes support for the same OSes: both 32- and 64-bit variants of Microsoft’s Windows 7, 8, and 8.1 operating systems, as well as its latest Windows 10 platform.

However, since other OSes might also be compatible, you should know that installing Realtek’s update on platforms other than the ones mentioned above isn’t recommended. Doing so might lead to malfunctions that will require you to remove and apply the appropriate driver.

Thus, if you intend to apply driver 6.0.1.7818, first download the package on your desktop location, extract the archive, and locate and run the available setup executable. Afterwards, just follow all on-screen instructions for a complete and successful upgrade.

Last but not least, don’t forget to give the wizard permission to perform a system reboot. If this task isn’t requested, it would be a good idea to carry it out manually; this allows the changes to take effect properly.

That said, download Realtek HD Audio Driver 6.0.1.7818, install it, and check our website as often as possible in order to stay up to speed with the latest releases.
