NVIDIA has rolled out a new update for its Quadro graphics driver, namely version 441.28 (R440 U3), which adds support for CUDA 10.2, as well as for the new RTX-accelerated ray tracing offered by Chaos Group’s V-Ray GPU Next and Blender 2.81.

In addition to that, NVIDIA’s team manages to resolve the OptiX performance regression when using V-Ray rendering and removes a bug that caused OpenGL/OpenCL driver to hang when exiting the Avid Media Composer app.

Last but not least, the current ODE driver release delivers performance gains up to 30% for apps such as Dassault Systemes SOLIDWORKS, PTC Creo, and Autodesk VRED, and is designed fo long-term stability and availability.

When it comes to installation, NVIDIA has provided several packages suitable for 64-bit variants of Windows 7, 8, and 8.1 operating systems, as well as for Microsoft’s Windows Server 2008 R2, 2012, 2012 R2, 2016, and 2019 platforms.

As for Windows 10 OSes, take into account that the developer has released two executables targeted at different hardware configurations: a DCH (Declarative, Componentized, Hardware Support Apps) and a Standard (or Legacy) file.

Therefore, if you intend to apply this package, save the proper one for your device, run it, wait as the wizard extracts all files required for the installation, and follow all instructions displayed for a complete upgrade.

Last but not least, once completed, it would be a good idea to perform a system reboot to allow all changes to take effect properly. If this task isn’t requested automatically by the wizard, make sure to carry it out manually to avoid any unwanted problems.
