Intel has rolled out a new PROSet/Wireless driver update, namely version 20.100.0, which is targeted at both IT administrators and regular users who do not need advanced tools and also includes a few changes and fixes.

Specifically speaking, the current release removes certain bugs that didn’t allow users to - connect to WAPI (WLAN Authentication and Privacy Infrastructure) access points due to password failure, or caused Windows stop error (BSOD) during an initial connection to access points.

Moreover, Intel makes sure the WiFi network doesn’t disconnect while in roaming or indicate limited connectivity when resuming from sleep (started with Windows 10 v1809), and resolves the Windows stop error (BSOD) seen while browsing.

When it comes to the compatible operating systems, this release is developed for both 32- and 64-bit variants of Microsoft’s Windows 10 OSes, as well as Windows 7, 8.1, and 10 platforms for IT Admin versions.

As for the supported hardware, this fresh update is to be applied on computers containing one of Intel’s Dual Band Wireless-AC 3160, 3165, 3168, 7260 (+ desktop), 7265, 8260, or 8265 (+ Desktop Kit), or Dual Band Wireless-N 7260/7265 adapters.

Last but not least, version 20.100.0 is also suitable for Intel’s Tri-Band Wireless-AC 17265, 18260, and 18265, Wireless-AC 9260, 9461, 9462, and 9560, and Wireless-N 7260/7265 devices.

That said, download Intel PROSet/Wireless Driver 20.100.0, apply the update, and don’t forget to perform a system reboot to ensure all changes take effect properly.
