The update enables on-screen support for Surface Dial

Microsoft has provided the download links for its April 2018 Cumulative Firmware and Driver Update package, which enables on-screen support for Surface Dial and improves the overall touch accuracy.

These improvements are implemented via new versions of the Surface Digitizer Integration Human Interface Device (2.0.313.0), Surface Touch Firmware (105.0.106.8), Surface Dial Detection System (2.0.2.0), and Surface Touch Servicing ML System (1.0.821.0).

With this in mind, if you intend to upgrade to this release, you should know that this task can be carried out either automatically via Microsoft’s Windows Update service or manually by downloading and installing the package.

Even though the first method is more accessible, take into account that not all Surface owners will receive this new firmware at the same time, as the producer provides every new update in stages. In other words, you might need to wait for this December 8, 2016, release to reach your tablet.

However, if you are anxious and want it now, you can also apply it by manually saving and installing one of the two downloadable packages; make sure you choose the correct one depending on your current Windows build.

Sill, do not forget that this release is only targeted at Surface Pro 4 tablets that are powered by Microsoft’s Windows 10 operating systems. Also, remember to reboot your device manually (if not requested automatically) to ensure all changes take effect correctly.

That said, download Microsoft Surface Pro 4 Tablet Firmware/Driver April 2018, install it, and check our website as often as possible to be aware when a newer version is available for your tablet.
