14 DAY TRIAL // FiiO has made available a new firmware package targeted at its 3rd generation X5 portable player, namely version 1.1.1, which adds an album art display feature in lock screen, as well as an option to auto-match or manually search for lyrics and album art.
In addition to that, the present release improves the track sorting method, fixes the improper display of track title, implements an option to list songs by album under the Genre category, and updates the UI of ViPER Effect.
Moreover, the producer’s 1.1.1 update resolves the issue where the album art of some FLAC tracks could not be displayed, improves FiiO Music stability when scanning some CUE sheets, fixes Key-lock settings, and addresses other problems as highlighted in the Release Notes below.
As for installation, first check the player’s battery and make sure it’s fully charged, save the downloadable archive onto a formatted microSD card, insert it into the player, and turn on the X5 in Android mode.
Now, go to Technical support > Firmware Update > Local Upgrade > external_sd, select the zip update package, hit “Ok,” and wait patiently. Do not use any of the device’s buttons or remove its battery/SD card during installation; the player will automatically reboot once upgraded.
