This new firmware release only resolves a few minor issues

NETGEAR has released a new firmware package targeted at its WNR3500Lv2 wireless router, namely version 1.2.0.40, which manages to resolve a few minor issues encountered with previous releases, thus improving the unit’s overall stability and performance.

However, the WNR3500Lv2 router might still display a shared folder that has “admin” access to guest accounts (but the guest can’t access it), and might fail to show a login authentication dialog when accessing ReadySHARE through HTTP.

When it comes to installation, save and unzip the downloadable archive, and make sure to write down all settings changed from the default values, as you might need to re-enter them after applying the new firmware.

If all is OK, establish a wired connection between the WNR3500Lv2 unit and the computer storing the .chk firmware file, log into its administration page using a web browser, and go to ADVANCED > Administration > Firmware Upgrade.

Now, hit “Browse,” navigate and select the newly-extracted .chk package, choose “Upload,” and wait patiently for the device to do its job. Do not remove the Ethernet/power cable or interrupt this process in any other way, as this might cause serious malfunctions.

That said, download Netgear WNR3500Lv2 Router Firmware 1.2.0.40, take into account all aspects mentioned above, and check our website as often as possible to stay up to speed with the latest releases.
