NETGEAR has rolled out a new firmware package compatible with its dual-band wireless router, namely version 1.0.0.52, which includes Access Control support, adds TLS for remote web management function, and fixes a SOAP API security issue.

If you want to make use of these changes, first, you should find out the router’s currently installed firmware version, make sure it isn’t newer or matching this release, and only afterwards save and unzip the downloadable archive. To do so, log into its administration page and check it there.

Now, if all is OK, establish a wired connection between your router and a computer, log into its dashboard once more (username and password should be required), go to Advanced > Administration > Firmware Upgrade, and click the “Browse” button.

Afterwards, simply navigate and select the newly unzipped .img file, click “Upload,” and wait for your router to do its job.

Bear in mind that, while upgrading (progress bar is filling up), you mustn’t reboot/power off either the router or computer, remove the Ethernet cable, or interrupt the process in any way. Doing so might cause various malfunctions that you would rather avoid.

With this in mind, download NETGEAR WNDR3400v2 Router Firmware 1.0.0.52, and carefully apply it on your wireless unit. Also, check our website as often as possible in order to be aware when newer versions are available for your device.
