NETGEAR has announced the availability of new firmware packages developed for Nighthawk AC1900 Dual Band WiFi Router (R7000), namely version 1.0.9.60, which fixes installation wizard for AP mode and resolves some security issues.

In addition to that, the current release makes sure the Access Control page shows the correct connection type, removes some bugs that resulted in a potential out of memory issue, and improves the WAN throughput when the traffic meter is enabled.

Moreover, NETGEAR fixes WiFi performance drops, doesn’t allow speed test results always to display 0, removes a glitch that allowed the same name to be used for the primary and guest networks, and implements other changes as highlighted in the Release Notes below.

When it comes to installation, first of all, make sure your router isn’t already running the present firmware (or newer), save and extract the downloadable archive, and establish a wired connection between the router and your computer.

Afterward, log into its administration page, go to ADVANCED > Administration > Firmware Upgrade, hit “Browse,” locate and select the .chk file, click the “Upload” button, and wait patiently as the device does its job.

That said, download NETGEAR R7000 Router Firmware 1.0.9.60, apply it by following the steps as mentioned above, and check back with us as often as possible to stay up to speed with the latest releases.
