Today, NETGEAR’s Nighthawk X6 AC3200 router owners have the ability to upgrade their devices, as the producer has announced the availability of a new firmware package, namely version 1.0.2.46, which fixes SOAP vulnerability issues, updates HTTPS certificate, and more.

If applied, this new release will implement Dynamic QoS support for Japan, resolve a Kcode NetUSB module vulnerability issue, as well as disable QoS edit page when the R8000 Gigabit router is in AP mode.

In addition to that, firmware 1.0.2.46 will also remove the bug that caused NAT to block traffic for certain types of packets, and the one that prevented USB printer from being displayed when access control is enabled.

When it comes to installation, first of all you must ensure that NETGEAR’s router isn’t running a firmware that is either newer or matches this release. Also, it would be a good idea to write down all settings that have been changed from the default values, as they might be required after completing the upgrade.

If all is OK, save and unzip the downloadable archive, establish a wired connection between the AC3200 unit and a computer, log into its administration page using a web browsers, and go to ADVANCED > Administration > Firmware Upgrade.

Now, hit “Browse,” navigate and select the newly-extracted .chk file, choose “Upload,” and wait patiently for the device to do its job. Do not interrupt this process in any way as this might cause serious malfunctions.

With this in mind, download Netgear R8000 Router Firmware 1.0.2.46, take into account all aforementioned aspects, and constantly check our website in order to stay “updated one minute ago.”
