MikroTik has just released a new firmware package, namely RouterOS version 6.37 RC 26, which is compatible with all of its devices, such as routers, access points, routerboards, range extenders, and others.

This new update manages to improve routing kernel performance in setups with large tables, to add support for TLS_ECDHE algorithms, fix the incomplete files issue in https mode, as well as to resolve the fastpath kernel crash bug.

In addition to that, MikroTik’s present firmware will now require write permissions for scripts to run table access, and add new loop-protect feature for ethernet,vlan,eoip,eoipv6 interfaces.

When it comes to installing this release, get the proper downloadable file for your MikroTik device and connect to the unit using Windbox.

Afterwards, copy the .npk file onto the root directory of the device’s file menu, and wait for the upload to finish. Upon completion, just reboot the unit and check the currently installed version to ensure it has been successfully applied.

However, since failing to complete this process can lead to serious malfunctions, it would be a good idea to review and understand the instructions for your device model, and only afterwards initiate the upgrade.

That said, download MikroTik RouterOS Firmware 6.37 RC 26, carefully apply it on your unit, and enjoy these new changes. Also, check back with us constantly to be aware when a newer version is available for download.
