The new firmware release improves interface status tracking

Today, MikroTik has made available a new firmware update developed for most of its products, namely version 6.37 RC 34, which should improve DHCPv6 interface status tracking and forces GPS to check NMEA checksum when available.

In addition to that, the present release fixes the MPLS memory leak, converts PPP.LTE pin to string argument, improves crash report generation for tile architecture, and resolves issues regarding CAPsMAN kernel crash while changing client-to-client forwarding.

Last but not least, MikroTik has also managed to fix RA and RS processing on new IPv6 interfaces (many interfaces would lose link during prolonged operation), as well as to remove the bug that prevented users from disabling IPv6 package.

When it comes to compatibility, bear in mind that the producer has rolled out separate .npk packages suitable for TILE, SMIPS, MIPS-BE, x86, PPC, and ARM variants; so make sure to choose the appropriate one for your device.

As for installation, connect to your unit using Windbox, copy the .npk file onto its root file menu directory, and wait for the upload to finish. Upon completion, just reboot the unit and check the currently installed version to ensure it has been successfully applied.

Still, since there are a large number of products supported, it would be a good idea to check your device’s user manual to make sure you use the correct update method.

That said, download MikroTik RouterOS Firmware 6.37 RC 34, familiarize yourself with the installation method, and apply the new update on your device. Also, constantly check our website to stay up to speed with the latest releases.
