Today, MikroTik has made available a new RouterOS firmware package targeted at its devices, namely version 6.38 RC 47, which is compatible with each of its ARM, PPC, MIPS-BE, x86, Tile, MMIPS, and SMIPS architectures.

In terms of changes, the current release makes sure profiler works properly on mmips devices, fixes a rare crash encountered upon receiving an incorrectly formatted snmp packet, and resolves the metarouter startup issue introduced in 6.37.2.

Additionally, the developer has also managed to include additional processor support on IKEv1/IKEv2, fix an issue regarding port IPv6 UDP/4500, ensure that generated policy refers to valid proposal, and force users to specify admin-mac when auto-mac is disabled.

When it comes to installation, since there are a large number of MikroTik products compatible, it would be a good idea to review and understand the instructions for your specific device model, and only afterwards initiate the upgrade.

However, bear in mind that interrupting the upgrade in any way or trying to apply an incorrect firmware can lead to serious device malfunctions. Also, once updated, make sure to reboot the unit and check the currently installed version to ensure it has been successfully applied.

That said, download MikroTik RouterOS Firmware 6.38 RC 47, carefully apply it on your unit, and enjoy these new changes. Also, check back with us constantly to be aware when a newer version is available for download.
