The update fixes critical networking security vulnerability

Microsoft has made available the download links for the December 2021 cumulative firmware and driver update packages targeted at its Surface Studio 2 devices, which improves overall system and camera stability and addresses critical networking security vulnerabilities.

The current release updates driver versions such as NVIDIA Display (27.21.14.6296), Realtek SST (Media 6.0.9083.3/Extension 6.1.0.9), Marvell Bluetooth/Wireless-AC controllers (15.68.17022.122), Microsoft LifeCam (5.20.1034.3), and Intel Camera IR (1.0.31.2) packages.

When it comes to installation, know that this task can be carried out either automatically via Microsoft’s Windows Update service or manually by downloading and installing the package.

If the first method is desired, take into account that not all Surface owners will receive this new firmware at the same time, and you might need to wait for this release to reach your tablet. As for the other method, simply save the package, run it, and install all files on your device.

However, do not forget that the present firmware is only targeted at the Surface Studio 2 systems. Also, it would be a good idea to reboot your device manually (if not requested automatically), to ensure all changes take effect properly.

That said, download Microsoft Surface Studio 2 System Firmware/Driver December 2021, apply it, and regularly check our website to be aware when a newer version is available.
