The release improves Surface Fingerprint Sensor accuracy

Microsoft has now made available the download link for the January 2016 firmware and drivers pack compatible with its Surface Pro 4 device, which installs new driver versions that improve the overall system performance.

Specifically speaking, this release applies the 2.2.10.6 Surface Fingerprint Sensor driver update thus improving touch accuracy, and adds battery charging enhancements and thermal tuning through the Surface Embedded Controller Firmware 103.899.256.0 version.

In addition to that, the producer has managed to improve access point compatibility and throughput on 5Ghz networks with the help of Marvell’s 15.68.9037.59 Wireless Network Controller and Bluetooth update.

When it comes to installation, you can do that either automatically via Windows Update service, but this means you have to wait for your Surface to receive the present update, or manually by downloading and applying Microsoft’s release.

That said, save and run/extract the downloadable file on your Surface unit, and follow all instructions displayed on-screen for a complete and successful installation. Also, after applying the present release, it would be a good idea to reboot your tablet manually (if not requested automatically), to ensure that all changes take effect properly.

With this in mind, download Microsoft Surface Pro 4 Firmware January 2016, install it, and check our website as often as possible to stay “updated one minute ago.”
