Microsoft has just made available the download links for its August 24, 2017, firmware and driver packages compatible with Surface Surface Pro 3 tablets, which updates a series of drivers that add support for Surface Pro Type Cover and Signature Type Covers.

To be more specific, the update installs Smart Cover Backlight - System device (3.0.0.0), PTP Filter - HID (1.0.173.1), Fingerprint Sensor Driver - Biometric device (2.2.11.0), Pro Type Cover Integration - HID (1.0.2.0), Type Cover Filter Device - Keyboards (1.1.504.0) versions.

When it comes to installation, the present release can be applied either automatically through Microsoft’s Windows Update service, or manually by downloading and installing the appropriate package.

Through Microsoft’s Windows Update service, all customers will receive each new firmware, but in stages. This means you might not receive it right now.

If you are anxious about this release and want it now, then save the downloadable file for your device model manually, and apply it on your Surface tablet; there are two files available, one ZIP and one MSI package, both compatible only with Windows 10 platforms.

With this in mind, download Microsoft Surface Pro 3 Firmware August 24, 2017, install it, and check our website as often as possible as we’ll keep you posted when a newer update is available.
